Studies on Human Leukocyte

چکیده
Multiple factors influence the initial inflammatory response to microbial lodgement in tissues. These factors include the nature of the invading microorganisms, vascular and lymphatic events associated with their presence, and the speed and intensity of polymorphonuclear leukocyte migration to the site of infection. In recent years, considerable attention has been focused on the late inflammatory events of phagocytosis and the subsequent fate of ingested microorganisms. Because factors affecting leukocyte motion appeared less well characterized, the present studies were undertaken utilizing a simple in vitro system which permitted quantitative measurements of leukocyte migration under a variety of circumstances. This paper reports the effects of changes in pH, electrolyte concentration, plasma factors, and phagocytosis on the ability of human polymorphonudear leukocytes to migrate against gravity in glass capillary tubes.

P-145: Role of Human Leukocyte Antigen in Miscarriage
Background: During pregnancy, the maternal immune system is in close contact with cells and tissue from the semiallogenic fetus .The human leucocyte antigen (HLA) class Ib molecules, HLA-E, -F and -G, are expressed at the materno-fetal interface. Because of the apparent immunoregulatory functions of these proteins, they may be involved in successful acceptance of the semi-allogenic fetus during...

متن کاملHaplotype Effect of Two Human Leukocyte Antigen-G Polymorphisms of rs1736933 and rs2735022 on the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
Background: Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) is a multifactorial disease that affects 1-3% of couples. Since Human Leukocyte Antigen-G (HLA-G) gene is involved in fetal maternal immune tolerance, mutations in the HLA-G gene can affect the success rate of pregnancy. Objective: The present study aims to investigate the haplotype effect of rs1736933 and rs2735022 polymorphisms found in the HLA-G ge...
متن کاملO-15: Different Leukocyte Concentrations in Normal and Abnormal Human Semen and Its Correlation with Sperm Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species, Lipid Peroxidation and DNA Fragmentation
Background: According to World Health Organization guideline (WHO 2010), seminal leukocyte concentration over 1×106/mL is a threat for sperm quality because of their role in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, lipid per-oxidation (LPO) and later DNA fragmentation (DF). However, this threshold is equal for all semen samples without attention to their qualities. Therefore this study was set...
متن کاملHuman Leukocyte Antigen-G Expression on Dendritic Cells Induced by Transforming Growth Factor-β1 and CD4+ T Cells Proliferation
Background: During antigen capture and processing, mature dendritic cells (DC) express large amounts of peptide-MHC complexes and accessory molecules on their surface. DC are antigen-presenting cells that have an important role in tolerance and autoimmunity. The transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-β1) cytokine has a regulatory role on the immune and non-immune cells. The aim of this study is ...
متن کاملThe Frequency of Human Leukocyte Antigen Class I and II Alleles and the Relationship Between Haplotypes in Gilaks Population of Iran
Background: The Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) is the most polymorphic region in human genome. Moreover, HLA haplotype frequencies are largely used in transplantation, the treatment of autoimmune diseases, and population-based studies. The present study aimed to determine HLA-A, -B, -DR alleles and haplotype frequencies in 88 unrelated donors of Iranian Gilak ethnic group, by Polymerase Chain Re...
